MANILA, Philippines — Filipino and American forces on Wednesday completed the biggest drill of this year's Balikatan Exercise in Tarlac.

Military vehicles from both countries were used during the Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise at Crow Valley in Capas, Tarlac.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and the US forces officially launched the annual joint military exercises last week.

"Unique from the previous years, Balikatan 2019 have scaled-up exercises gaining more focus on the area of territorial defense and counterterrorism operations," Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr., AFP chief , said during the operning ceremony.

Aside from live fire exercises, the combined forces would also participate in counterterrorism training, amphibious operations, urban operations training, aviation operations, bilateral planning, subject matter expert exchanges, and humanitarian and civic assistance projects throughout Luzon. — Patricia Lourdes Viray
