MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has unleashed profanity and threatened to kill alleged crooked cops presented before him on Tuesday.

Look at me. Alam mo hindi ko maintindihan bakit kayong mga kriminal nakapasok sa police," Duterte began his speech as a new batch of errant police officers faced him at the Malacañan Palace grounds.

He reprimanded the cops for ruining the reputation of the police, which he said had improved on its image "a lot."

The president had taken the Philippine National Police out of his brutal war on drugs twice in the past—the first time was after the death of a Korean businessman kidnapped by cops and the second time after outrage due to the deaths of teens in the hands of authorities.

The cops were allegedly involved in crimes such as kidnap-for-ransom, extortion, robbery and serious illegal detention.
