MANILA, Philippines — The Regional Police Intelligence Operatives Unit has filed an illegal possession of explosives and firearms complaint against the suspected foreign terrorist believed to be allied with ISIS.

Following the Philippine National Police's presentation of suspected terrorist Fehmi Lassqued to media, the latter was immediately brought to the Department of Justice to undergo inquest proceedings. An inquest is a summary investigation of a state prosecutor.

Supt. Carlito Narag Jr., chief of RPIOU, filed a complaint of violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act against Lassqued and his Filipina companion identified as Anabel Moncera Salipada.

According to the two-page complaint, the two were arrested in a raid conducted by the joint task force of the police and the Armed Forces on Feb. 16, 2017.

Earlier on Monday, PNP Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa said that the authorities also recovered an ISIS flag from the two. He added that Lassqued is believed to be one of the high-ranking members of the ISIS terror group.

The authorities also recovered a Tunisian passport, believed to be fake, from Lassqued.
