MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Vice President on Wednesday warned the public of bogus raffle programs supposedly from the Maria Leonor Robredo Foundation and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

In a statement, the OVP said there is a text message circulating to the public that they are eligible for a pangkabuhayan showcase from the Maria Leonor Robredo Foundation and the 4Ps.

“This is not true. The said foundation and raffle program do not exist. All announcements regarding the programs of the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines will be done through our official pages,” OVP spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said.

“We thank everyone who got in touch with us to verify this news, and we advise the public to be vigilant against misinformation and deception,” she added.

The Social Welfare and Development Program’s 4P covers 41,605 barangays in all 144 cities and 1,483 municipalities in 80 provinces and 18 regions with a total of 4,385,344 households. Some 1,780,444 or 39.07 percent are from Luzon; 891,537 or 20.33 percent from the Visayas; and 1,713,363 or 39.07 percent from Mindanao.

Robredo filed the House Bill No. 6349 seeking to institutionalize the government’s 4Ps when she was still the 3rd District Rep. of Camarines Sur. During the vice presidential campaign, she said she will push institutionalize the program to ensure continued development of the poorest citizens.
