Typhoon Nina makes eighth landfall over Lubang

MANILA, Philippines (3rd update; First published at 11 a.m.) — State weather bureau PAGASA on Monday afternoon recorded the eighth landfall of Typhoon Nina (International name Nock-Ten) over Lubang Island at 1 p.m..

PAGASA said Nina made its seventh landfall over Calatagan, Batangas at 11:40 a.m. after slamming Tingloy Island, Batangas at 10 a.m.

Nina's fifth landfall over Verde Island in Batangas City, Batangas was recorded around 9:15 a.m.

The typhoon previously made landfall over Bato, Catanduanes; Sagñay, Camarines Sur;  San Andres, Quezon Province, and Torijos, Marinduque.

Due to this, Estareja said Nina is still expected to affect the Calabarzon region, Metro Manila, Marinduque and other parts of central Luzon. He also said these areas will experience moderate to heavy rains until Monday afternoon.

The typhoon is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, tropical cyclone warning signals are still hoisted over the following areas.
