Antonio Trillanes concedes defeat in VP race
MANILA, Philippines – The vice presidential race is down to two candidates as Sen. Antonio Trillanes also conceded from the race.
On Tuesday morning, Trillanes released a statement where he said he concedes defeat in the vice presidential derby.
“I humbly submit to the will of the people for they are sovereign in our democracy,” he said.
Trillanes trails behind Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Sen. Gringo Honasan who have earlier conceded from the race.
The vice presidential race is now down to Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo and Sen. Fedinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
As of 10:30 a.m. in the unofficial tally of the Parish Pastoral Council on Responsible Voting, Robredo leads the vice presidential race with 13,341,232 votes, while Marcos has 13,178,696 votes.
