Observe ICE TEA, Comelec workers told

CALASIAO, Pangasinan, Philippines – For credible elections, make “ICE TEA.”

This was the advice of Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Andres Bautista as he called on election officers to be accountable and efficient in their work for the coming May 9 elections.

Bautista took time to meet the regional poll officials here yesterday, telling them to make “ICETEA,” or “Inspire the Comelec workforce, Consult and Engage our stakeholders and critics, be Transparent, Efficient and Accountable in the way we do things.”

Bautista stressed the success of the May 9 elections heavily depends on the job of Comelec field officers under ICETEA.

He added this year’s election is the hottest – in the sense that the presidential rivals are figuratively clawing at each other as temperatures soar with only two weeks to go before voters troop to polls.

The poll chief met the regional election officials a few hours before the third and final round of presidential debates in Dagupan City.

He hailed the election officials for initiating the signing of a peace covenant among candidates.
