MANILA, Philippines - Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle on Tuesday clarified that the prayer service attended by the three possible presidential candidates - Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and Sen. Grace Poe - has no political color.

In a message sent to Church-run Radyo Veritas, Cardinal Tagle confirmed the presence of the three  so-called 'presidentiables' at the Archdiocese of Manila on Monday night.

He said that the event was organized by the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) as part of its pastoral care.

"It was organized by PPCRV as part of pastoral care not only of voters but also of potential candidates. The program was simple: evening prayer, dinner, meditation on humble servant leadership in the Bible and role of servant leaders in promoting the common good. No political discussion," the cardinal said.

PPCRV Chair Henrietta de Villa said the group will organize another round of prayer service and gathering with other possible candidates in next year's elections.
