MANILA, Philippines — The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) on Sunday started an investigation on a video apparently showing an airport police officer smashing the window of a taxicab.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the MIAA said that the heated argument occurred between taxi driver Boots Ymata and arresting officer APO2 Alejandro Pineda Jr., which was caught on video and posted on Facebook over the weekend.

Pineda is seen demanding Ymata's driver license for violating several traffic rules around the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) last December 12.

The MIAA said that Pineda accused Ymata of disregarding traffic signs, obstruction, direct assault and resisting arrest.

"MIAA now determining liability of arresting officer in this incident," the agency said.

In the video apparently taken by passengers at the NAIA Terminal 3 departure area, Pineda is seen breaking the driver's side window of the vehicle while Ymata is still in his seat.

"Alam mo ba kung anong kaso mo? Ano ba ang kaso mo?" Pineda was caught as saying in the footage.
