Gordon lauds bookstore’s decision on China-made globes

MANILA, Philippines - Senatorial bet Richard Gordon welcomed yesterday the decision of National Bookstore to pull out from its shelves all China-made globes, which reflect Beijing’s sprawling claim in the disputed South China Sea.

Gordon said National Bookstore showed a principled stand on the disputed West Philippine Sea, which is dotted with islands, shoals, cays, reefs and rock formations and is believed to be rich in oil and natural gas.

“We should laud National Bookstore for its principled stand. When they found out that the globes made from China reflected their sprawling claim in the disputed region, they pulled out the globes. More and more people should act as National Bookstore did,” he said.
