MANILA, Philippines - A low-pressure area was spotted yesterday east of Eastern Samar.

It said with this development, the Visayas and Mindanao would experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms today.

Weathermen said widespread rains would prevail over Eastern Visayas and Eastern Mindanao that might trigger flashfloods and landslides.

Luzon would be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated light rains.

Moderate to strong winds from the northeast part of the country would blow over Luzon and the Visayas while coastal waters in these areas would be moderate to rough.

Elsewhere, Pagasa said winds would be light to moderate from the northeast to the northwest with slight to moderate seas.
