Rains to prevail over Luzon, Visayas

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services’ Administration (Pagasa) said yesterday rains would prevail over the eastern parts of Luzon and the Visayas early this week due to a low pressure area off Occidental Mindoro.

Pagasa Director Prisco Nilo, however, said the low pressure area (LPA) is likely to dissipate.

Nilo said good weather condition would prevail in the rest of the country in the next few days.

The LPA was spotted some 90 kilometers south-southeast of San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, as of 2 a.m. yesterday.

Nilo said Southern Luzon and Western Visayas would experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the next 24 hours.  – Helen Flores
