Phoemela Baranda on representing Philippines in 'Celebrity Car Wars'

Celebrity host Phoemela Baranda represents the Philippines in the new season of the History Channel show "Celebrity Car Wars."

MANILA, Philippines — Celebrity host Phoemela Baranda represents the Philippines in the new season of the History Channel show "Celebrity Car Wars," competing with other celebrities in Southeast Asia.

“The show is all about cars. We did a lot of challenges that involve four wheels. It is a circuit car racing with a twist, drag racing with Godzilla cars, off-road 4x4 adventure, obstacles… lahat basta may apat na gulong we did it,” Phoemela told Philstar.com.   

The former Kapamilya entertainment anchor admitted that she is a really big fan of cars. “I love cars. I love the speed. I love the challenge. I think I have good skills in driving. In this contest, it’s my first to try the off-road trucks, the rock rollers, 'yung malalaki. I really enjoyed it."

Phoemela said she will do her best for her to bag the ultimate prize and for country’s pride in her episodes shot in Tarlac, Bataan and Pampanga. 

“Everyone has a fair chance here, everyone has a driving background, everyone is very competitive and fearless.You have to watch it and see the challenges. Talagang you wouldn’t have thought kung sino ang mananalo,” the model-actress said.

For the competition, she said she prepared physically and mentally as they will do challenges for 20 straight days. “Every challenge is a big challenge. Everything is new. For me, to go through all the challenges, you need to be emotionally and physically prepared.”

The new season of "Celebrity Car Wars" has many revelations and promises to be action-packed. Apart from the crazy challenges, viewers will need to watch out for Phoemela’s outfits. “Under the racing suit kasi it’s hot so I wear a very sexy sports bra. That’s my trademark in the show.”

Apart from the History Channel’s new show, Phoemela is still doing the show in Viva cable channels “Anong Ganap?”

The award-winning History Asia original series premiered on September 4 and airs every Monday at 9:55 p.m. exclusively on History.
