MANILA, Philippines – The Miss Universe Organization early Thursday announced that American rapper Flo Rida will perform at the 65th Miss Universe coronation night to be held in the Philippines.

Miss Universe Organization and TV network Fox TV made the announcement in their social media accounts.

“We're excited to announce that @official_flo will be performing LIVE at #MissUniverse,” the organization said.

Flo rida is known for his hip-hop hits, “Low,” “Elevator,” “Club Can’t Handle,” “GDFR,” “Good Feeling,” “I don’t like It, I love it,” “Right Round,” “Whistle,”  “Wild Ones,” among others.

The hip-hop artist held a mall tour in Metro Manila in 2008.

Prior to the Miss Universe Organization’s announcement, Tourism Secretary Wanda Tulfo-Teo said an international artist with Filipino descent will perform in the pageant. This sparked rumors that Fil-am Bruno Mars will grace the pageant which the tourism department later on denied, saying the artist is busy.

Department of Tourism has yet to announce the Filipino performers for Miss Universe.

The pageant's coronation night will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 8 a.m.
