MANILA, Philippines — Phil Younghusband said he and Bangs Garcia no longer dating.
It was in November last year when Bangs confirmed in an interview in “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” that she was dating the Azkals footbal star.
On Tuesday, however, Phil said they both decided to just be friends.
“Nag-decide ako na kailangan ko ng 'me' time. I need to concentrate on my football [career],” Phil replied when asked how is his relationship with Bangs.
“But we're still friends and there's no ill feelings towards anyone, everyone's happy. So I have time for myself, I think it's good na I concentrate with football,” he added.
The 27-year-old athlete-TV host also said he's not in the rush to settle down, something he learned from his previous relationships.
“One thing I learned is you can't force anything, rush anything. You just have to let it happen,” he said. “No rush yet, I just have to find a girlfriend first. I it happens, it happens, if it doesn't, it doesn't. If I'm fifty years old and I'm still on my own, that's life.”
Meanwhile, Phil is happy to be hosting TV5's “YHTUbe,” with his brother James Younghusband. They will be featuring funny moments in the sports world, and even make fun of themselves at times.
With all the success they're getting, both in their football and showbiz careers, Phil and James remain grounded by putting in mind lessons handed to them by their deceased parents.
“Ang natutunan namin with our parents, to always be respectful, be polite, be humble no matter what. Since our parents are no longer around, we make sure that we still do [that],” Phil relates.
