MANILA, Philippines - Angelica Panganiban said in a television interview that she might have been the reason for the break up of Shaina Magdayao and John Lloyd Cruz.
The topic of Shaina and John Lloyd’s break up came out during the February 8 episode of ABS-CBN’s late night talk show “Gandang Gabi Vice,” which featured Angelica and actor-TV host John Prats as guest hosts.
Angelica and John, long-time co-stars of the ABS-CBN comedy show “Banana Split,” describe each other as “best friends.”
Angelica revealed she and John used to bash John Lloyd and Shaina when the two were still a couple.
“Binabash namin si Lloydie at si Shaina,” she quipped. Angelica is the current girlfriend of John Lloyd. Meanwhile, Shaina is the ex-girlfriend of both John Lloyd Cruz and John Prats.
“Sinasabi ko talaga, ‘Ano ka ba, kaya mo yan. Isipin mo hindi sila bagay, maghihiwalay din sila.’ Ako pala yung magiging dahilan,” Angelica added.
When program host Vice Ganda asked Angelica if she was the reason for the breakup, the “That Thing Called Tadhaha? star said, “Feeling ko.”
Angelica also said during the said “Gandang Gabi Vice” episode: “Sabi ko, in fairness no, si Shaina, ano kaya nararamdaman? Best friend ko, tapos dyowa niya dati. Ako ang nagwagi.”
Hours after the episode, Shaina Magdayao took to social media to say she puts on her “prayer list: whoever tries to put her down and break her “even if I’m not doing anything to them.”
She posted on her Instagram account: “ONE thing I DO BEST to people who "try" to put me down and "try" to break me even if Im not doing anything to them? I PUT YOU ....ON MY PRAYER LIST exactly what i did before, and what i still will continue to do 3 years after #takethehigherroad #butplsdontmentionmynameeverrragain.”

John Lloyd admitted his relationship with Shaina in 2010. The two confirmed their split in May 2012.
