MANILA, Philippines - The Miss Universe journey ends for Philippine bet Mary Jean Lastimosa.
The North Cotabato native did not make it to the final top five of the Miss Universe pageant on Sunday (Monday morning, Manila time). This was announced midway through the competition, held at the Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
The contestants who made it to the top five are:
- Miss USA
- Miss Netherlands
- Miss Ukraine
- Miss Jamaica
- Miss Colombia
Mary Jean Lastimosa failed surpass her predecessors Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida who made it in the Miss Universe pageant’s top five.
It also ends the Philippines’ streak of making it to the international pageant’s top five since 2010.
The country’s last Miss Universe titleholder is Maria Margarita “Margie” Morgan, who won the title in 1973.
