The Philippines being a Christian country has many festivals reflecting our practices, culture and traditions. This month, Filipinos celebrate the Sto. Niño Festival in Cebu, Manila and other places. During the Lenten season, the locals have their own versions showing the sacrifices and sufferings of Jesus Christ. Devotees also find ways to show their repentance of their sins.

A big event where tourist and foreign guests can see a huge crowd is during the celebration of the feast of the Black Nazarene today. In the morning, there’s a Mass at the Quirino Grandstand at the Rizal Park and from there is the procession of the revered Black Nazarene. Two or three million devotees witness the event until early in the morning of the next day.

There are also festivals in the country where tourists can join in the crowd, while others can sing and dance with them.

After touring the country, tourists and foreign guests find time to visit shopping malls for world-class Philippine furniture and other products and enjoy tropical fruits and local cuisine.
