MANILA, Philippines - “I’m ready and I’m gonna end the year with a bang,” declares Kapuso star Julie Anne San Jose, referring to her upcoming concert titled Julie Anne San Jose: Hologram on Dec. 13 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Julie Anne, the first Pinoy concert performer to stage a show integrating hologram technology (which enables a 3D image of a person or object), feels pressured but excited over her concert.

“I have prepared a fierce surprise number so that the audience will see the other side of me,” she shares. So, expect Julie Anne to display her powerful vocals, electrifying dance moves and talent in playing various musical instruments simultaneously using the hologram technology.

Julie Anne, whose confirmed guests are Christian Bautista, Sam Concepcion and Abra, explains why her former love-team partner, Elmo Magalona, is not on her guest list. “I was informed that he is also busy with his prior commitments. But I just wanna say that in my previous concerts, he was always there naman. I think it’s okay if I invite other artists para maiba naman. But Elmo and I are okay.”

She also denies rumors that she cried upon learning that Elmo’s mom Pia has reportedly forbidden her son to guest in Julie Anne’s concert. “Hindi po ako umiyak at hindi ko po alam na may ganoon pong issue.”

As to rumors romantically linking her to Abra whom she collaborates with via a song, Julie Anne has clarified that they are just friends. “Abra and I are really, really good friends and we just see each other when it’s about work. But beyond that, wala po talaga.”

“Being single,” says the 20-year-old self-confessed NBSB (no boyfriend since birth), “doesn’t mean I’m a lesbian,” addressing other rumors. “I am 150 percent sure that I’m a girl. I’m just not ready to get into a relationship. And I’m saving my heart for someone I will spend the rest of my life with. Honestly, it’s annoying that they’re doubting and judging someone they (bashers) don’t even know personally.”

Julie Anne adds, “For now, I’m focused on my concert. I really have a lot of priorities. In fact, I have a full load (of subjects) in school. So, I (spend my) time juggling work and school. I’m also busy with other commitments.”

Meanwhile, Julie Anne is in the cast of the Metro Manila Film Festival entry Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles showing in December. Recently, Julie Anne’s sophomore album Deeper has received a Gold record award from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry, Inc. (PARI).

(Julie Anne San Jose: Hologram is produced by GMA Network, Inc. and Tarroza Entertainment Productions.)
