MANILA, Philippines - It’s Showtime wowed Canada on Sept. 20 and 21, in Toronto and Edmonton.
After their arrival from Manila, the hosts took in the sights of Ontario and experienced one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Niagara Falls. The following day was spent on rehearsals and a meet-and-greet.
The show at the Ricoh Coliseum was a huge success, produced by Marilyn and Crystal Penano of Great Smile Denture Clinic in Toronto.
Before the sold-out show at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, people lined the streets for an entire block outside the venue waiting to join the fun.
The entire cast (Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Karylle, Vhong Navarro, Billy Crawford, Kuya Kim Atienza, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Jhong Hilario, Ryan Bang, Coleen Garcia and Eric Tai) was brought to Canada by NY Entourage Productions and sponsored by “Your Home In the Sky” Philippine Airlines and Megaworld International.
Producers Johnny and Lixmila Serrano and Onie and Girlie Nitoral of 3J Event Services were happy with the show’s success. Serrano said, “The 12 hosts were easy to work with.” Showtime Canada in Edmonton was the most attended and best-rated Filipino show ever held in Alberta. — MARIE ANN MACUJA
