Carmen Rosales, pre-war and post-war movie queen, was at home in drama, musical (she has a beautiful singing voice) and comedy, like Matandang Dalaga (1953).
Produced by Sampaguita Pictures, Matandang Dalaga tells the story of an old maid, ‘masungit at makaluma.’ That is until she fell in love with Jose ‘Pempe’ Padilla, who tamed her.
Also starring are Ramon Revilla and Myrna Delgado.
Carmen and Pempe are long gone. Myrna is based in the US. Ramon is no longer in the best of health, spending his years in Cavite. He was senator for two terms (12 years). —RKC
