MANILA, Philippines - The Star Magic Ball—an annual event that gathers the stars of ABS-CBN's training and management company—saw a number of firsts this year.
Held at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City on Saturday night, the event (now on its seventh year) marked the first time Gerald Anderson and Maja Salvador attended a major showbiz gathering together as a couple.
Gerald and Maja were named as the ball’s Best Dressed Male and Female Star of the Night.
Both Gerald and Maja went stag at last year's Star Magic Ball.
Other Star Magic Ball stand outs include Kim Chiu and Xian Lim, who won the Fabulous Pair Award.
This year’s event also served as a welcome of sorts for artists who just signed with ABS-CBN this year, such as former TV5 stars JC de Vera and Alex Gonzaga and former GMA-7 star Ynna Asistio.
Nikki Gil, in her first showbiz event appearance since her controversial breakup with Kapamilya star Billy Crawford, also graced the event. The singer-actress attended the ball solo.
Also attending the Star Magic Ball solo were Sam Milby and Jessy Mendiola (Sam recently revealed he is courting Jessy), Jake Cuenca and Rayver Cruz.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla were named Couple of the Night.
Couples Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban and John Lloyd Cruz arrived at the venue together. Also among those who graced the event: Maricar Reyes and Richard Poon, Vina Morales, G Tongi, Coco Martin, Yeng Constantino, Carlo Aquino, Jed Madela, Enchong Dee, Melissa Ricks, Jericho Rosales, Gretchen Barretto, and Erich Gonzales.
