Ronnie back with new CD

Ronnie Liang: (May Minamahal) bares my heart and soul

MANILA, Philippines - After a two-year hiatus, the singer behind Ngiti re-enters the music scene with a brand-new album titled May Minamahal released by Viva Records. It came a few months after Ronnie joined the Viva Artist Agency’s stable of stars.

The 12-track album features six remakes of OPM classics personally handpicked by Ronnie himself. It includes the carrier single Akala Mo, originally by Aiza Siguerra, which has been given a more upbeat pop sound. Other highlights in the album are the title track which was first made popular by Hajji Alejandro in the ’70s and then by Rachel Alejandro in the ’90s and the anthemic Afterimage original Mangarap Ka.

May Minamahal is special to Ronnie for it marks his being first-time album producer, which meant he oversaw the entire project starting from the selection of the songs to conceptualization and production of the music video of Akala Mo. “I’m happy (having the) opportunity to participate in the making of my second album in a way of choosing the songs and song arrangements. I enjoyed the experience very much and I’m thankful to my new home studio, Viva, for giving me the opportunity and support all the way,” he said.

“I’m very happy with this album,” he says. It bares my heart and soul and I’m proud with what I have achieved.”

Ronnie is excited for the people to rediscover him and his music via the album and promises to work hard to meet the audience’s expectations, especially since he has been given the title Prince of Ballad.

May Minamahal is now available in all leading record and video stores nationwide.

Ronnie is also in the midst of promoting his album. He will be at Marquee Mall Angeles City, Pampanga today, Nov. 23; Glorietta, Nov. 30; Market! Market!, Dec. 2; Harbor Point Mall Subic, Dec. 8; Ayala Mall Cebu, Dec. 14; Alabang Town Center, Dec. 16; and Ayala Mall Cagayan De Oro, Dec. 22.
