Songs of praise and worship with Don Moen

MANILA, Philippines - Don Moen, the American singer-songwriter-producer who gained success worldwide for his praise-and-worship music, is returning to perform at a special concert on Nov. 8 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

The concert, titled God Will Make A Way! Philippine Tour 2012, is the inaugural show of a three-date tour that also includes performances by Moen at the JCCU Auditorium in Butuan City on Nov. 11.

To be produced by Ovation Productions, the tour will showcase the extraordinary talent and skill of Moen who has attracted millions during the past three decades for his style of praise-and-music songs that interpret closely the words of the Bible, such as God Will Make A Way, Thank You, Lord, God Is Good All The Time and Give Thanks.

Other Christian songs that he has popularized include Lord, I Offer My Life To You, I Want To Be Where You Are, Blessed Be The Name Of The Lord, Celebrate, Jesus, Celebrate, Great Is Thy Faithfulness, and many more.

The musical event is expected to draw another capacity crowd, mainly from Moen’s solid base of Pinoy fans of various social classes and religious beliefs that he has established during his many performances here in the past.

Associated with some of the best-known songs in contemporary Christian music, the musical talents of the Minneapolis, Minnesota-born artist first bloomed while he was attending Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma.

During the late ’70s and early ’80s, he was a Living Sound musician for Terry Law Ministries, after which he joined Integrity Incorporated, authors of the Hosanna! Music praise-and-worship series, in 1984.

As worship leader, he produced a total of 11 volumes in the series, including the first album, Hosanna! Music: Give Thanks, which sold hundreds of thousands of copies and became the label’s bestseller.

He followed this up with a number of successful albums of his own, starting with the first album, Worship with Don Moen (1992), and including two in Spanish, En Tu Presencia and Trono de Gracia. His music has total global sales of over five million copies.

After working for 20 years in such positions as creative director and president of Integrity Media, president of Integrity Label Group and executive producer of Integrity Music albums, Moen left Integrity Media in 2008 to start a new venture, the Don Moen Company, which eventually acquired MediaComplete, the church software company that created MediaShout.

Moen received a Dove Award for his work on the musical, God With Us, and Dove Award nominations for God Will Make A Way and eight other songs two years earlier.

A greatest hits compilation featuring 19 top hits and aptly titled, God Will Make A Way: The Best of Don Moen was released by Integrity in 2003.

A prolific songwriter, Moen has worked with Claire Cloninger, Paul Overstreet, Martin J. Nystrom, Randy Rothwell, Ron Kenoly, Bob Fitts, Debbye Graafsma, Paul Baloche, Tom Brooks, among many others.

He has also worked with talented musicians like Justo Almario, Abraham Laboriel, Alex Acuna, Paul Jackson Jr., Lenny LeBlanc and Carl Albrecht.

Moen’s album, Hiding Place, became his first studio album which was recorded at Paragon Studios in Franklin, Tennessee and was released in the autumn of 2006, followed by I Believe There Is More in the fall of 2008 and Uncharted Territory last March 27.

Due to be released on Oct. 22 is his new Christmas album, Christmas: A Season of Home, with some songs recorded at a studio in the Czech Republic.

Moen has released a new album titled, Hymnbook, as a celebration of his reaching over one million likes on his Facebook page.
