The New Normal preems on 2nd Avenue

MANILA, Philippines - From Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee and American Horror Story, comes The New Normal, a brand-new comedy series set to tickle your funny bone and warm your heart as it tells the story of a family which looks to redefine what we think a normal family looks like.

Premiering tonight at 8:30 on 2nd Avenue, it is a heartfelt story of a gay couple who long for a family of their own. Aspiring double dads David (Justin Bartha) and Bryan (Andrew Rannells) are on the lookout for a woman to be the surrogate mother of their future child. David and Bryan play a couple with successful careers and a loving, committed partnership. A baby is the only thing David and Bryan need to complete their picture-perfect life. But in contrary to what they thought, looking for a surrogate mom is not an easy task.

Just when the two guys think it’s time to give up on their dream, they meet Goldie (Georgia King), a desperate, broke but most importantly, fertile single mom who is looking to escape her Midwestern dead-end life and make a better life for her young daughter.

In the story, Goldie agrees to be the surrogate for the two guys. Making the big move to Los Angeles, it turns out it’s not just Goldie who will be popping into the lives of the future dads. She brings her precocious eight-year-old daughter and small-minded grandmother (Ellen Barkin). As it turns out, Bryan and David are not just about to get a surrogate mother, but also a surrogate family.
