MANILA, Philippines - Did you know that before playing the lead role in Immortals, Henry Cavill was dubbed by Empire magazine the “Unluckiest Man in Hollywood”? Here’s the reason why: He had been set to star as Superman in director MaG’s 2004 film Superman: Flyby.
When MaG pulled out of the project, he was taken over by Bryan Singer who recast Brandon Routh as the lead. Henry had the same experience in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Twilight and Casino Royale. But that was history. Today, Henry is one of the emerging big stars as he gets hot in the action-thriller The Cold Light Of Day.
In the film, Will Shaw (Henry) and his family venture out on a week-long sailing trip in Spain when he finds himself on the run from brutal secret agents trying to find a mysterious missing briefcase. Co-starring Bruce Willis and Sigourney Weaver, The Cold Light Of Day opens tomorrow, May 9 in theaters. No longer “unlucky,” Henry has started filming his biggest film Superman: The Man of Steel due for release in 2013.
