Snake Crusader with Bruce George

MANILA, Philippines - Bruce George (photo) is back for more thrilling animal encounters as he comes face to face with snakes and other wild animals on Animal Planet’s Snake Crusader with Bruce George. Bruce teams up with local animal experts to investigate animal issues and educate the people about the animals they share their environment with, traveling to areas such as Sabah and Batu Caves in Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Australia. Snake Crusader premieres tonight at 9. Episodes encore on Friday at 2 a.m., Sunday, 12 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday, 5 a.m. and Thursday, 3 p.m.

From catching stray pythons and avoiding poisonous snake bites to investigating dwindling animal populations and illegal animal trafficking, Bruce travels around the Asian region to work with local animal organizations. One of the main issues that Bruce tackles is population growth and urban development, which has resulted in the destruction of natural habitats leaving many native animals homeless. When the animals start encroaching into human homes, war often ensues. We often see them as pests, but the animals are merely seeking food and shelter in areas where they used to roam free. Snake Crusader  takes a look to see if there are any ways that animals and human populations can peacefully co-exist.
