P15 umento sa minimum wage sa Metro Manila aprub na

MANILA, Philippines - Inaprubahan na ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ang P15 dagdag sa minimum wage ng mga manggagawa sa private sector.

Ayon kay DOLE-National Capital Region (NCR) director Alex Avila, ang dagdag sa arawang sahod ng mga minimum wage earner sa Metro Manila ay ipatutupad sa susunod na buwan.

Inaprubahan ng Regional Tripartite Wage and Productivity Board-National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) ang resolusyong nagtataas ng basic minimum wage at nagpapatuloy sa P15 cost of living allowance, na sinimulang ipatupad noong Enero 2014. 

Nangangahulugan na mula sa kasalukuyang P466 minimum wage kada araw, tataas na ito sa P481.

Nabatid na umaabot sa 587,000 minimum wage earners ang makikinabang dito na pawang exempted din sa income tax.

Anya, ikinonsidera sa desisyon ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga pangunahing bilihin at iginiit na dumaan ito sa serye ng public hearings. 

“[The decision] consistent with the government’s policy of granting regular, moderate, and predictable minimum wage adjustments, taking into consideration the needs of workers and their families, as well as the need to maintain stability in the business environment within the framework of the two-tiered wage system reform,” ani Avila.
