4th Duke Harris Memorial chessfest slated Dec. 21
CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano chess players have something to look forward to days before Christmas with the staging of the 4th Duke Harris III Memorial Chess Tournament on Saturday, December 21, at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
To balance the competition, there will be a time control of 10 minutes for Class A entries, 12 minutes for Class B, and 15 minutes for Class C players.
Close to P20,000 in cash prize will be given away to the winners.
The champion will pocket P5,000 while the second to fifth placers will take home P3,000, P2,000, P1,000 and P500, respectively.
The top female, Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 players will receive P500 each while the lucky 25th finisher will get a P1,000 bonus.
Registration fee is pegged at P150 for kiddies and P200 for adults. Those who will register on site will be assessed with P250.
