P100 thousand at stake in Salon de Rose Tatluhan chessfest this weekend
CEBU, Philippines — It’s going to be a merry holiday season for Cebuano chess aficionados and their counterparts from neighboring provinces with the staging of the cash-rich Salon de Rose Christmas Tatluhan Chess Tournament on December 7-8 at the Barracks Chess Club in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
Close to P100,000 in cash prize will be given away to the top finishers of the two-day tilt that is a yearly Christmas offering of noted Cebu chess patron Benjamin “Bojie” Lim and their family-owned Salon de Rose.
Event coordinator Jun Olis said each team shall be composed of three members with an average rating of 2030 based on the September 2019 National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) ratings.
The champion will pocket P30,000, while the second to fifth will take home P20,000, P10,000, P7,000, and P5,000, respectively. The sixth to seventh place will get P3,000 and P2,000. The eight to 15th to receive P1,500 each while those who will make it to the top 20 will take P1,000.
The top board players, on the other hand, will earn a P1,000 bonus.
Registration fee is pegged at P600 for the kiddies and ladies and P1,200 for the early birds. Those who will register on-site will be assessed with P1,500.
