Emil’s logs fourth win in Talisay Mayor’s Cup
CEBU, Philippines — Iron Suano dropped 23 points as the Emil’s squad turned back Paragsa, 93-86, in the open category of the 2019 Talisay City Mayor’s Cup Inter-Barangay Basketball Tournament at the Talisay City Sports Complex.
Frank Nailon chalked up 19 markers, Alfred Codilla scored 15 while Alfred Belande and Nat Cruz chipped in 12 and 10 markers, respectively, as Emil’s took the solo lead in the standings with a 4-1 win-loss record.
Emil’s trailed by five points early on, 23-28, but staged a furious fightback in the middle quarters 49-34, to turn the tables on Paragsa.
In the other game, Jojo Tangkay, Randy de la Pisa, John Abad and Janjan Auditor connived for 54 points to power EGS past JOCYN via a 101-100 cliffhanger.
EGS thus forged a three-way logjam with JOCYN and Paragsa at the second to fourth spots with identical 3-2 slate. - EBV
