Top Cebuano gymnast De la Pisa to strut wares in Phl Open
CEBU, Philippines — Multi-titled gymnast Daniela Reggie De la Pisa leads a lean Cebu squad in the 1st Philippine Open Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships dubbed as the “Captain’s Cup’ this Thursday at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City.
Bright Academy’s De la Pisa will be competing in the senior division as part of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games-bound Philippine team later this year in Clarkfield, Pampanga.
De la Pisa and the rest of the country’s best will be going up against the top bets of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and India.
Aside from Daniela, her mom and personal coach Darlene Castañeda-Dela Pisa will be bringing with her five upcoming gymnasts who will see action in the junior level.
They are Leanne Marie Manning of One World Montessori, Colynne Marie Aguilar and Rhaenbow Eve Abarquez of the University of San Carlos, Anne Therese Desamparado of Labangon and home-schooled Zian Ann Tajanlangit. (FREEMAN)
