Hockey friendly at SM Seaside City this Saturday

CEBU, Philippines — Cebuano ice hockey fans will be treated to a highly entertaining action as the Ice Hockey Club of Cebu tangles with Manila Ice Hockey League in a goodwill game this Saturday at the SM Seaside City skating rink.

IHCC, the biggest ice hockey club in Cebu, invited the Manila players for a friendly to promote the sport of hockey to sports fans.

"Hockey is new here in Cebu and it takes time to build the club and the number of players but we are getting bigger now and this game is very important as we want to develop the sport here," says IHCC founder Bob Ward." Our plan is to go out and recruit young players.”

IHCC is supported by Kai Nordbæk of Norway who donated hockey gear to the group.

Aside from the MIHL team, the organizers have also invited the members of the Philippine National Ice Hockey Team or popularly known the Team Pilipinas to be their guests in the event.
