TCC reaps more golds in PNG swimming

CEBU, Philippines – Team Cebu City added 11 golds, five silvers and two bronzes to its medal haul in swimming event of the Philippine National Games-Visayas leg in Antique yesterday.

Michael Ichiro Kong reaped two more golds through the 200meter freestyle and 100m individual medley, while Rommylin Nina Ignacio bounced back with two golds and a silver.

Trina Caneda bagged another gold and a silver, Beth Mae Arellano got one gold through the 50m, even as Jaymark Buslon, Shane Allyne Pareja, Nil Enrico Micarsos and Fritz Tamara also contributed one gold each.

Micarsos, Dacaldal, Tamara and Kong put their acts together on the way to a gold-medal finish in the boys 4x500m freestyle relay.

All in all, the wards of coach Rolando Alvarez now has 20 golds, 11 silvers and five bronzes in their treasure vault.  (FREEMAN)
