TCC Niños sizzle in Silliman age-group swimfest

CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu Blue Marlins-powered Team Cebu City Niños bagged the overall championship of this year's Silliman University Founder's Day Novice and Advance Age Bond Swimfest over the weekend in Dumaguete City.

Rafael John Dacladal led TCC's charge with six golds, while Michael Ichiro Kong of the University of Cebu and Quintin Zee Sabalande of Don Bosco Technology Center donated five golds each.

Tabunok Central School's Mike Gabrielle de la Serna fished out four golds and a silver, Sage Prep School's Benedict James Orio finished with one gold and three silvers, SHS-AdC's Blue Villarete handed two golds and Val Andy Chiu added three gilts.

The other boys who chipped in medals for TCC were Blessed Trinity  Academy’s Martin Samuel del Rosario with one gold and five silvers, Bright Academy's Jehaosh Reign Garrido with six silvers, UC's Rodrigo and Ramsy Macawile Jr. with five bronzes combined, Jobert Indaya with four silvers and a bronze, Giovani Seth Gealon with three silvers and one bronze, and Jan Nino Rosales with three bronzes.

In the distaff side, Zurielle Kenzie Galo of UC came up with three golds and as many silvers along with Kristy Carmel Pardo, while Bencynth Ghail Luage, Mai Kawabata, Micah Marie de la Serna and Karen Mae Indaya got three golds each.

St.Theresa's College's Jo Arriena Cabanes seized two golds, Bright Academy's Isabella Marie Deihl had two golds and a silver,  while UC'sMaria Michaela Recilla got four silvers, Lindsay Anne Gonzales one silver and two bronzes, and Shane Allyne Pareja one  silver and two bronzes.

Justin Reign Garrido ended her bid with one gold, silver and bronze, Guadalupe's Alexa Angel Asibal got a silver and a bronze, while Labangon Elementary Schools' Mary Pauline Indaya got one gold and one silver.

Cebu City Central School's Dionifel Kate Saraga handed one gold, one silver and two bronzes, while Dionifel Ann Saraga netted one gold, three silvers and two bronzes,

The other medal contributors for TCC were Tisa's Dionilyn  Jade Villahermosa with a silver and a bronze, Bulacao's Reesee Kursten Maree Navarro with a gold and a bronze and St.Paul's Blithe Don Castillo with a silver.

The wards of coach Rolando Alvarez also lorded it over the relay events in 10-under and 11-above age groups. (FREEMAN)
