CEBU, Philippines - The Queen City of the South plays host to the inaugural staging of the full-length Kopiko Astig 3-in-one Supercross Series at the South Road Properties on January 26-27.
At least five European riders have already confirmed their entry for the two-day joust. They are expected to arrive a week ahead of the race not only to practice early at the race course but also to experience the Sinulog festival.
Although Kopiko had been supporting and hosting several motocross races last year, it is only this time that they are holding a nationwide series.
The maiden event will cover a total of 12 legs spread all over the country.
Organized by the Cebu-based Man and Machine Racing Promotions led by Jonas Adlawan, the series will surely revive the glorious days of motocross in the country as well as produce new talents in the sport.
With this, the National Motorcycle Sports and Safety Association (NAMSSA) has given its full support to Adlawan’s initiative.
Although sanctioned by NAMSSA, the race is open to everyone.
Aside from organizing the series, Adlawan is also excited about his son Jon-Jon who has been tapped as captain of Team Kopiko. — (FREEMAN)
