Echavez sizzles in Subic triathlon

CEBU, Philippines - Versatile Cebuana athlete Lorhiz Echavez had a rousing debut in the 18th Subic Bay International Triathlon (SUBIT) yesterday at the Subic Freeport Zone.

Echavez, a licensed civil engineer, won her age-group with the time of two hours, 41 minutes and 10 seconds.

Echavez was trailed by Margarita Locsin in 3:00:11, while Anne Catherine Hernandez came out third with a 3:14 clocking.

Overall, Echavez ranked third behind the veteran Ani Karina de Leon (2:29:14) and Doray Ellis (2:36:24).   (FREEMAN NEWS)
