4th CDU Run off today

CEBU, Philippines - Defending champions Elmer Bartolo and Madelyn Carter defend their titles today in the 4th Cebu Doctor’s University Run at the Mandaue City Reclamation area.

Over five thousand runners will see action in the biggest annual university-initiated running event.

Bartolo will be contending with the Delposo brothers and Philip Dueñas in the men’s division.

Carter, however, will be hard-pressed against the prolific young runner Mary Grace Delos Santos of Zamboanga City. Delos Santos has won all the running events she joined in Cebu.

Senator Pia Cayetano, Donna Cruz Larrazabal (singer-turned runner), her cousin Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano will add glitter to the event.

This Sun Cellular-presented event features the 10K run for the men and women’s open and the doctor’s class, 5K for the CDU students and employees and the 3K for the fun runners and students as well.

Winners will receive cash prizes and medals. There will also be special awards for the youngest and oldest runner and to the liveliest group.
