Hamac, Pilapil sizzle in separate chess tourneys

-
Ronald Hamac and Alan Pilapil romped away with the championship trophies in the respective chess tournaments they joined last Saturday at the Gaisano Bowlingplex.

Hamac topped the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) chess tilt with 4.0 points.

Jeffrey Solis finished second with 3.0 points followed by Glenn Dakay with 2.0 points.

Pilapil, on the other hand, dominated the Philippine Society of Medical Engineers chess event.

Pilapil posted 2.5 points, just half-point ahead of Charlie Relos. Nathaniel Barata and Benjie Sanchez settled for third and fourth, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Cebu Executives and Professionals Chess Association (CEPCA) will have its monthly handicapping tournament at 1 pm this Sunday at the Stella Maris in Pier 4 of North reclamation area.

Opent to all CEPCA members and guests, the competition features Class A, B and C categories.
