Ouano-Dizon leads opening of new Tayud diversion road
CEBU, Philippines — Mandaue City Lone District Representative Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon led the turnover Thursday of the P120 million newly-constructed road in Consolacion, Cebu.
Ouano-Dizon said the project will directly benefit some 160,000 residents in the municipality and neighboring cities and towns in northern Cebu.
The project was constructed when Ouano-Dizon was the congresswoman of Cebu Sixth District which comprises Mandaue City and the towns of Consolacion and Cordova.
The project was completed and turned over this time when Mandaue City was separated from the Sixth District.
“Pero bisan pa man, representative na ko sa Mandaue, wala gihapon nako gikalimtan ang taga Consolacion. Naninguha gihapon ko nga mahuman ang maong proyekto kay dako man kini og ikatabang sa mga Consolacion ug sa mga residente sa silinganang dapit,” Ouano-Dizon told The Freeman.
The concrete road which is now open to motorists in the area has a length of 850 meters extended from the entrance of Sitio Laray towards Sitio Libo in Barangay Tayud, Consolacion.
Ouano-Dizon said that the opening of the road would greatly help decongest the traffic in Consolacion.
“Abli na ang Tayud Road, duna nata laing diversion road, makatabang sa traffic sa Consolacion,” Ouano-Dizon further said.
Meanwhile, to provide drivers with clear and visible guidance on the road specifically at night or rainy or foggy weather in the newly constructed roadway, she also caused the installation of 284 solar road studs at the center with complete street lights. “Ako ra pud giapil sa solar road studs because road safety is such a primary importance to be considered,” Ouano-Dizon added.
She also encouraged the public to do their part in maintaining roads away from abuses.
Ouano-Dizon added that as a government official, she asks for support from the people and barangay officials to keep the road clean and peaceful. (CEBU NEWS)
