CCTO sets up payment booth for traffic violators

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A payment booth will be set up across the executive building of Cebu City Hall to receive payments from traffic violators starting today, June 1.

The Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) decided to take the initiative to make it more accessible for violators to settle their fines considering that their office at the South Road Properties (SRP) is less accessible to the public.

The payment booth is intended for those who wish to settle their traffic violations, including clamped vehicles. For impounded vehicles, however, it should be settled at the CCTO office.

The said booth, which will be manned by personnel from the City Treasurer’s Office, will be open Mondays to Fridays from 8 am to 5 pm. After office hours traffic violations will have to be settled at the CCTO office.

Thousands of traffic violations have been recorded by the CCTO every month. Violators are constantly reminded to settle their violations as soon as possible to avoid complications.

CCTO believes that with a payment booth at the city hall, violators will have no more excuse to settle their fines as soon as possible.  —/FPL
