CEBU, Philippines —  The local police are preparing for the visit of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte in Liloan, Cebu during the town’s fiesta on Saturday.

The local government of Liloan led by Mayor Aljew Frasco has invited the country’s top two government officials to grace some events during the fiesta.

Police Major Eric Gingoyon, chief of the Liloan Municipal Police Station, said he cannot confirm whether or not the two officials will come to Cebu.

However, the Philippine Information Agency-7 has already issued advisory confirming the visit of Duterte.

Accordingly, Duterte will grace the Pagbabago Campaign Activity in Mandaue City Sports Complex on Saturday morning.

At 10 a.m., Duterte will depart for Pier 88 in Liloan town.

In a Facebook post Wednesday, Deputy Speaker Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco of Cebu’s fifth district, posted some photos of the preparations for the Pier 88 grand launching.

“The team that brought this dream to reality makes final preparations for Pier 88 Grand Launching on May 27,” Frasco said.

Frasco along with Erik Lim, Kyle Uy, Atty. Jemil Marquez, Pier 88 and Topline management performed a walkthrough of the Liloan Port ahead of its opening this coming Saturday.

The Port of Liloan will soon serve the people of Bohol, Camotes Island, Leyte, and Cebu.

No confirmation yet as to the visit of Marcos in Liloan.

“Schedule still being finalized but definitely, will issue advisory anytime tonight to tomorrow morning,” said PIA-7 Director Fayette Riñen.

Gingoyon pointed out that although there is no confirmation yet, they will implement strict security.

“On going pa gihapon among mga multi agency meeting namo and then so far medyo ready na gyud mi diri sa Liloan para sa Rosquillos Festival," said Gingoyon.

The Liloan Municipal Police Station has requested 180 police augmentations from the Cebu Police Provincial Office (CPPO).
