Guadalupe folks now following stricter protocols

CEBU, Philippines —  Residents of Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City are now more obedient to the stricter protocols due to rise in Covid cases in the area.

The police have made the assessment after having only seven individuals were arrested last Saturday compared to the 47 arrests last Friday.

"So far mingaw na jud kaayo na in fact naa gani gihapon atong mga Philippine Army, kabalo naman jud sila natong mga personnel manakop man jud, and then ato sad gipahugtan atong mga entrance ug exit," said Police Captain Janelito Marquez, Guadalupe Police Station chief.

Marquez however said that despite having no arrested violators, the law enforcers are continuously patrolling the barangay.

According to Marquez, since the implementation of strict enforcement of the minimum health standard protocols in Barangay Guadalupe, this has been the most visible decrease of the number of violators in the area.

"Mahadlok naman ang mga tawo mogawas, ang mga mogawas lang jud kato nalang mga APOR (authorized persons outside residence) ug nga frontliners," said Marquez.

He added that their massive rekorida dubbed as Oplan Badlong has been effective.

As of yesterday afternoon, no violators arrested in the barangay as both the military and police continued their patrolling in the area.

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) along with the Cebu City Government have been closely keeping an eye in Barangay Guadalupe after a spike of the COVID-19 cases in the area were reported. — GMR (FREEMAN)
