CEBU, Philippines — There will be no voter registration at the Commission on Elections offices nationwide on November 30 and December 8, 2020.

The Comelec issued an advisory to the public as the said dates are declared holidays in the Philippines.

“Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 845, all offices of the Commission on Elections nationwide will be closed on November 30, 2020 (regular holiday) and December 8, 2020 (special non-working holiday), hence there will be no voter registration” read the Comelec advisory.

November 30 is Bonifacio Day while December 8, 2020 is the Feast of Immaculate Conception of Mary.

The Comelec said no public transaction will be made in the Comelec main office and field offices on those days including the issuance of the voter’s certification.

On regular days, the Comelec has reminded the public that voter registration is conducted from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. only during weekdays, with Friday as the designated disinfection day, unless the local government units prescribes a different disinfection day.

Those who will be going to the Comelec offices must also observe minimum health standards since there is still a threat of coronavirus disease pandemic. — GMR (FREEMAN)
