36 Cebu City barangays report zero transmission

CEBU, Philippines —  Thirty-six of the 80 barangays in Cebu City have zero COVID-19 transmission yesterday per the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) data, said City Legal Officer Rey Gealon.

Gealon, city spokesperson, said these COVID-free barangays, as of Monday, include Calamba, Adlaon, Agsungot, Babag, Bonbon, Budlaan, Buot, Cambinocot, Day-as, Ermita, Guba, Kinasang-an Pardo, Lusaran, Mabini, and Malubog.

Also included in the list are Barangays Pamutan, Paril, Pasil, Pulang Bato, Pung-ol Sibugay, Quiot, San Antonio, San Nicolas Proper, Sto. Niño, Sawang Calero, Sinsin, Sirao, Suba, Sudlon I, Sudlon II, T. Padilla, Tabunan, Tagba-o, Taptap, Tinago, and To-ong.

"Ang pinakamaayong balita kay bisan sa gidaghanon sa atong barangay dinhi sa dakbayan, nga mokabat og 80, dunay upat ang wa gyud masudli sa COVID-19 ug mao kining mosunod: Barangay Paril, Barangay Buot, Barangay Sudlon I, ug Barangay Taptap," said Gealon.

 

"Kining upat ka mga barangays wa gyud sudli sukad-sukad nga nakigkombati ta sa COVID-19.  Atong paghinaot nga kini, kay mao ning pinakaluwas, pinakahamugaway karon nga barangay dinhi sa dakbayan sa Sugbo.  Magpabilin sa ingon ug nalipay ang mayor sa mga gaduma niining mao nga mga barangay gumikan sa ilang ka-aktibo ug kasinsero sa pakigkombati ug pagsiguro nga malayo sa kalautan ang ilang mga residente dihang dapita," he added.

Gealon also disclosed that Barangay Apas has the most number of active COVID-19 cases with 39, based on the Department of Health official data.

This is followed by Barangays Tisa with 19 active cases; Lahug, 15; Guadalupe and Talamban, 14 each; and Bacayan and Mabolo, 11 each.

Barangays Bulacao and Kamputhaw have eight active cases each; Basak San Nicolas, Busay, Capitol Site, Pit-os, seven each; Labangon, Cogon Pardo, Inayawan, Luz, Tejero, four each; and Basak Pardo, Lorega San Miguel, Pahina San Nicolas, three each.

Two active cases each are from Barangays Sambag I, Carreta, Binaliw, Buhisan, Cogon Ramos, Kamagayan, Mambaling, Punta Princesa, Sambag II, San Roque, Sapangdaku, and Zapatera. — GAN (FREEMAN)
