CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office has announced the reshuffling in some of its units due to mandatory schooling of some of its officers.

Among those positions that are affected by the revamp are the investigation, police community relations section, deputy city director for operations and deputies of the station commanders.

"At the moment mawad-an ta sa atong mga officers maong atong ituyok usa sila and then naay mga officers nato maggunit usa og tagduha ka posisyon until such time na madungagan ta from the region," said CCPO director, Police Colonel Josefino Ligan.

According to Ligan, from the CCPO headquarters, three lieutenant colonels will be stepping down from their posts, one station commander, among others.

The Waterfront Police Station chief, Police Captain Miles Damoslog, has told reporters that he will be replaced by Police Captain Edgar Labe while he undergoes schooling.

Ligan assured that the movement will not affect the implemented security measures and services they have established as they are expecting replacement soon for the quick transition.

"Then naa puy mga bag-ong ni-graduate gikan sa schooling maoy mo-replace, hopefully mahatagan na dayun ta sa katong replacements aron dali ra ang transition, mao na akong giingon nga we have to act lang usa with unsay naa nato nga officer nga serbisyuhan jud, mabutangan ang mga offices og officers," Ligan added.

Meanwhile, in line with the internal cleansing of the Philippine National Police, almost 150 personnel have undergone drug testing.

"This is a regular conduct of drug testing of all our personnel. For this quarter we have 150 na ka tao ang napa-drug test na nato, kay this program is intended for every quarter," said Ligan.

Ligan however added that so far, all these 150 have tested negative from the drug test. — GMR (FREEMAN)
