Policemen confiscate over P6 million shabu
CEBU, Philippines — Over P6 million worth of suspected shabu were seized by elements of Cebu City Police Office Intelligence Unit from two arrested persons in a buy-bust operation last Tuesday evening.
In the operation conducted along Garfield Street, Barangay Suba, the police arrested Marvin Torrenueva Enriquez, 38, and Jason Galan Cabellon, 35, both residents of San Jose Village, Barangay Tisa.
CCPO director, Police Colonel Josefino Ligan, said that during their initial investigation, they found out that Enriquez might have suppliers from the National Capital Region.
“Kani si Marvin Enriquez (subject of the operation) kani siya maoy nahulog nga bodegero, then ang iyang pundo tagakan siya, dili mominus og tulo ka kilo, ato siyang na-transact mao tung nakuha nato siya,” said Ligan.
Seized from the suspects were 937.6 grams of suspected shabu worth P6,375,680.
Ligan said the operation was conducted the first day the city was placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) indicating that the police didn’t loosen up even with the less restricted quarantine status.
Further investigation revealed that the suppliers of the suspects were allegedly from the NCR, said Ligan quoting their claims during interview.
“Sumala pa sa amoang interview niya, gikan gihapon sa kaulohan, gikan gihapon sa sulod ang gikan naghatag og order so naa naman to. We will exploit again para ma-link mi makahatag gyud mi og picture kung kinsa gyud ning grupoha kay lain-lain man, daghan man sila’g sources,” said Ligan.
At present, Ligan said they have already made a diagram of the suspects’ sources for further investigation. — GMR (FREEMAN)
