Police remain clueless on ex-radioman’s killing
CEBU, Philippines — Police are still facing a blank wall in the fatal shooting of a broadcaster-turned-blogger and realtor last December 30 at Quimod Compound in Sitio Kalabasa, Barangay Danglag Consolacion town.
Edmund Arcilla Garces, 41, a resident of the place and former blocktimer at RPN-DyKC radio station who was also engaged in real estate business and blogging, was shot dead by two unidentified assailants.
Police Chief Master Sergeant Brent Pulmaran of Consolacion Police Station said the gunmen quickly fled the scene after the incident.
Pulmaran said that one of the angles they are pursuing in their investigation is personal grudge.
Judging on the way the victim was killed, it appeared that the killers harbored grudges against him as he was reportedly shot 14 times.
In fact, he was further shot even as he had already slumped on the ground.
Relatives quickly brought the victim to Eversley Child Sanitarium General Hospital in Barangay Jagobiao where he was declared dead on arrival.
Pulmaran said they will also consider other angles in their probe. KQD (FREEMAN)
