Governor Gwen Garcia had said that the rehabilitation and concreting of roads are among her priority projects.  In fact, the Capitol has set aside P800 million in the province’s 2019 Supplemental Budget to make this a reality.

In an interview during a press conference earlier this week, the governor said that she will now be signing the notices of awards for the contractors with the winning bids for the identified 66 road sections.

“I expect to be signing the notices of awards for 66 road sections sa provincial roads nato,” Garcia said.

Garcia added that the 66 sections are spread evenly throughout the cities and municipalities in the province.

“And that it is spread throughout all the seven districts. We sought to it na dunay gyud masugdan nga trabaho,” she said.

Garcia added that at least one kilometer of provincial roads will be concreted per city and municipality.

However, Garcia clarified that the goal of the concreting was to get the road concreting program started.

The governor said that about 250 kilometers of provincial roads all over Cebu will be concreted under the 2020 Annual Budget of the Province of Cebu.

“Kanang tanan nga nasugdan nga atong gi-konkreto sa atong provincial roads, in the annual budget humanon ta na,” she said.  GAN (FREEMAN)
