CEBU, Philippines — The Office of the Vice Governor has proposed a lower annual budget for calendar year 2020.

“We based our budgeting sa policy ni Governor Gwen nga atong mga unnecessary items gipang-remove,” said Atty. Ramil Abing of the Vice Governor’s Office.

A proposal of P73.2 million budget has already been given to Governor Gwen Garcia.

“We based on the actual utilization sa 2018 because that’s what the governor wanted us to base our budget (from),” Abing added.

The actual budget utilized for the year 2018 was P74.3 million.

Ambing said they asked for a lower budget because they do not have initiated any projects for the upcoming year.

However, they have requested the governor P30 million for aid to resolutions requesting for financial aid from cities and municipalities and barangays.

“Basically wa jud ta’y gi-initiate nga projects. We hope that what we propose as the legislative assistance fund to the governor will be approved,” he said.

The Office of the Vice Governor’s budget proposal also included a meager capital outlay of P622,000,000. This includes the purchase of a new motorcycle unit and repairs in the building.

This proposal will still be subject to approval by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.  GAN (FREEMAN)
